Leaders of Armenian communities in twelve European countries
\nheld an online meeting on July 24. During the meeting, they referred to the
\nmeasures that have been taken and are to be taken to protect the interests of

“We discussed the process of fulfilling the agreements
\nreached during the July 6 Brussels meeting. We also referred to our further
\nactions. In this regard, once again the participants highlighted the importance
\nof the fact that more than 470 European organizations became party to the
\nletter addressed to the European Council, the European Commission, the European
\nParliament, as well as the leaders of the member states of the European
\nCouncil, within the framework of the “Europeans for Artsakh” movement,
\naimed at lifting the continuous and illegal blockade of Artsakh.

The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
\nthe Republic of Artsakh thoroughly presented the grave situation in Artsakh in
\nterms of humanitarian crisis and security. It was concluded that effective
\ninternational measures should be taken to avert the imminent disaster.
<\/p><\/p>\n
Special reference was made to the current unacceptable
\nstance of the European Union toward the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the
\nnegotiation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and especially to President
\nof the European Council Charles Michel’s troublesome statements. The meeting
\nparticipants deemed it unacceptable that the EU, in fact, justifies the policy
\nof ethnic cleansing and continuous atrocities adopted by Azerbaijan, thus going
\nagainst the values cherished by the EU itself. The European Council should
\nexercise political will and, being caught in the dilemma between values and
\nbusiness, should stand in favor of values, thus averting the next Azerbaijani
\natrocities against humanity.

The meeting also discussed matters regarding the need to
\nincrease support for Artsakh and lift the blockade, the need to provide
\nhumanitarian aid and to impose sanctions against the military and political
\nleadership of Azerbaijan. They also referred to further actions to be taken in
\nother directions. Highlighting the importance of placing the EU leadership
\nunder constant pressure, publicizing the criminal actions of Azerbaijan and the
\nnecessity to resolve the conflict of Artsakh, the representatives of Armenian
\ncommunities agreed to maintain and expand this platform, as well as to conduct
\nsuch meetings on a regular basis, in order to enhance efficiency.

The meeting participants once again expressed their
\nunwavering support for the heroic people of Artsakh, appreciating their titanic
\nstruggle for the sake of their homeland and dignity,” reads the statement.
