The body of a woman who had been reported missing has been found, and examinations have been ordered, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.<\/p>\n
On Oct. 19, a person contacted the MIA’s Police Operational Management Center, reporting that a woman’s body had been discovered in a rented apartment on Demirchyan Street in Yerevan.<\/p>\n
Operational police units from the MIA were dispatched to the scene. It was confirmed that the body belongs to 23-year-old Aysat Baymuradova, who had been reported missing since Oct. 17. Examinations have been ordered, and the circumstances are being investigated as a pretrial inquiry is underway.<\/p>\n
As previously reported, Baymuradova had left an apartment on Azatutyan Avenue on Oct. 15 and did not return.<\/p>\n
According to Russian media outlet Dozhd, the Chechen woman had fled from Russia to Armenia to escape domestic violence. Baymuradova had told her roommates that she went out for a walk with a friend she met on Instagram, after which contact with her was lost.
