It has been a long time since the transfer of patients to
\nArmenia was made impossible, even through the ICRC office in Stepanakert. Thus,
\nat the moment, there are more than 200 patients waiting to be transferred to
\nArmenia. Artsakh State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan said this during his interview
\nwith Radio Liberty (RFE\/RL).

“As I have mentioned before, Azerbaijan has sent
\ndoctors to the checkpoint. Our patients, who are to be transferred to Armenia
\nto receive proper medical treatment there, come under medical examination
\nby Azerbaijanis at the checkpoint. Today, we somehow managed to persuade them
\nnot to carry out the examination in front of the cameras. Can you imagine that
\nthe Azerbaijanis make our patients get off the vehicles so that they can carry
\nout medical examinations? And if need be, a person can be asked to undress for
\nthe examination. Moreover, among these patients, there are even seriously-ill
\npeople who are being transferred to Armenia in a sitting position in ICRC
\nvehicles. The ICRC somehow managed to persuade them not to conduct medical
\nexaminations in front of the cameras,” the Artsakh State Minister said.
