Carlos Manzo, Municipal President of Mexico’s Uruapan, was assassinated during a public celebration, El País<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Unidentified assailants opened fire on the official’s motorcade, killing him at the scene. A city council member and the mayor’s bodyguard were also wounded in the attack.<\/p>\n

According to official reports, one of the attackers was killed, and two others have been arrested.<\/p>\n
