According to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service press office, Armenia is politically motivated to “separate” from Moscow and assist Ukraine by purchasing part of Kyiv’s wheat at higher prices, with the extra cost allegedly covered by European Union funds, RIA Novosti<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

“For years, Armenia has purchased wheat from Russia. Now, for political reasons, the Armenians ‘want to break away’ from Moscow and support Ukraine by buying part of the wheat they need from an ‘independent’ country,” Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service stated.<\/p>\n

The report notes that Ukrainian wheat is about one and a half times more expensive than the Russian one.<\/p>\n
