The European Union made a statement on Azerbaijan’s decision
\nto ban the movement of vehicles of the International Committee of the Red Cross
\nthrough the Lachin corridor.

“The EU strongly supports the activities of the ICRC as the
\nonly major humanitarian organization present in the South Caucasus. Their work
\nalong the Lachin corridor has been exclusively focused on providing the
\nessential needs for the Armenian population in Karabakh and much needed
\nhumanitarian assistance. It is the responsibility of the Azerbaijani
\nauthorities to ensure that ICRC can continue its operations and prevent a
\npotential humanitarian crisis,” reads the statement.

The EU reiterated its call for Azerbaijan to ensure the
\nunrestricted movement of people and goods via the Lachin corridor.
