French police arrested four further suspects as part of the investigation into the audacious Louvre jewel heist last month, Reuters<\/a> writes, referring to Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau’s statement.<\/p>\n

The suspects are two men aged 38 and 39 and two women aged 31 and 40, and were being interrogated by police, the statement said.<\/p>\n

It did not disclose what role the four are suspected of playing in the daylight robbery.<\/p>\n

As noted, the total number of suspects has reached eight.<\/p>\n

The authorities do not say how many stolen exhibits have been returned or saved.<\/p>\n
