Construction of the “Zangezur Corridor,” which is expected to have an annual capacity of up to 15 million tons, is actively underway, Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said at the 83rd meeting of the CIS Council on Railway Transport.<\/p>\n
Nabiyev noted that the section of the railway leading to the Aghbend area on the border with Armenia is expected to be completed by 2026.<\/p>\n
“At the same time, Azerbaijan is working on the construction of a 200-kilometer section of the railway passing through Nakhijevan. The design for this route has now been completed, and construction work will begin soon.
