Defense is a cornerstone of the strategic partnership between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan, British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld wrote on X.<\/p>\n
The ambassador expressed satisfaction with the recent meeting between Azerbaijan’s president and British Minister of State for Defence Lord Vernon Coaker, as well as the discussions on further opportunities for cooperation in the defense sector.<\/p>\n
“The United Kingdom welcomes the progress achieved over the past year and takes pride in the growing defense collaboration with Azerbaijan,” the diplomat noted.<\/p>\n
Aliyev received Coaker on Dec. 4.<\/p>\n
Coaker emphasized the UK’s interest in developing bilateral ties as a strategic partnership. He also congratulated Azerbaijan’s leader on the outcomes achieved in August in Washington regarding the advancement of the peace agenda and normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n
