The abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was the result of betrayal and a criminal conspiracy, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said, according to the BelTA<\/a> news agency.<\/p>\n

Lukashenko stated that both civilians and military personnel had been paid to ensure the success of the operation.<\/p>\n

“I want you to understand: everything was in place. There was an agreement, money was paid — including to Venezuelan citizens, both military and civilians. It was betrayal,” Lukashenko said.<\/p>\n
