According to a Western security official, Iran has sold Russia nearly $3 billion worth of missiles to support President Vladimir Putin in the nearly four-year-long war in Ukraine, Bloomberg<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official told the agency that contracts signed with Moscow for ballistic and surface-to-air missiles before the outbreak of the war in October 2021 amount to approximately $2.7 billion.<\/p>\n

The package reportedly includes hundreds of short-range Fateh-360 ballistic missiles, around 500 other short-range ballistic missiles, and 200 surface-to-air missiles for air defense systems. Tehran has also supplied millions of rounds of ammunition and artillery shells to Russia.<\/p>\n

At the start of 2023, an additional $1.75 billion deal was signed between the two countries, which included the delivery of Shahed-136 kamikaze drones and the transfer of their production technologies.<\/p>\n
