Anti-government protests in Iran, triggered by the sharp depreciation of the national currency, reached a turning point on Jan. 9–10, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami said at a press conference.<\/p>\n
According to the ambassador, it became clear during those days that a movement was underway aimed at replicating in Iran what had previously occurred in Syria.<\/p>\n
“We recorded four cases in which police officers were beheaded. There were also incidents in which police officers were burned alive, as well as shootings,” Shirgholami said.<\/p>\n
He noted that certain Israeli officials, as well as former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had publicly stated that Mossad operatives were present on the streets of Iran.<\/p>\n
“It became clear that these were not merely rumors. As a result of these developments, both law enforcement officers and peaceful civilians were killed, as were members of the terrorist group itself — individuals who had been trained and sent into Iran,” the ambassador said.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
