An explosion occurred near a synagogue in the city of Liège, Belgium, VRT<\/a> reports, citing police sources.<\/p>\n

No one was injured, but the synagogue suffered material damage, including broken windows. The area around the building was cordoned off, and the street was closed.<\/p>\n

Liège Mayor Willy Demeyer described the incident as a “violent act of anti-Semitism.”<\/p>\n

“It is unacceptable that we are bringing conflicts from abroad into our city,” Demeyer said.<\/p>\n
