Russia’s customs service has begun imposing higher import duties on goods entering from the EAEU if they were produced in so-called “unfriendly” countries, lawyers and business representatives told Forbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes, the tariff rates range from 15% to 50%. The publication cites examples such as perfumes and lipsticks imported from France, which are now subject to duties of 20% and 35%, despite the standard tariff for these products being 6.5%. Forbes notes that previously, customs authorities did not apply additional duties if goods had obtained EAEU product status.<\/p>\n
