The crisis in the Middle East will not bypass the CSTO region, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council, according to TASS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lavrov also drew attention to instability around Afghanistan, where there is an ongoing “difficult struggle against both terrorism and drug trafficking,” noting that the situation requires additional attention.<\/p>\n

“However, the crisis in the Persian Gulf, which has arisen due to unprovoked aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran, the parallel escalation of war in Lebanon, military actions against Syria aimed at further fragmenting the country, and, of course, the complete stagnation that is exacerbating the tragedy of the Palestinian people both in Gaza and the West Bank, is reducing the chances of establishing a Palestinian state. Meanwhile, Israel is making official statements that such a state will never exist, and instead there will be the State of Israel with expanded borders.
