Former Italian Ambassador to Armenia Bruno Scapini told TASS<\/a> that the West is constantly attempting to encroach on countries that have traditionally been within Russia’s sphere of influence.<\/p>\n

“Armenia risks becoming another flashpoint, like Ukraine. Based on my experience as ambassador in that country, I see a risk of Ukrainization,” said the diplomat, who headed Italy’s diplomatic mission in Yerevan from 2007 to 2011.<\/p>\n

“Since 2018, when Nikol Pashinyan came to power, Armenia has been moving away from the Eurasian alliance and drawing closer to Europe.
