On May 20, the Genesis Armenia<\/strong> think tank\/foundation hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, the foundation said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The discussions focused on the security situation in the South Caucasus, regional developments, tensions surrounding Iran, as well as geopolitical pressures facing both Armenia and Iran.<\/p>\n

The participants also emphasized the importance of the historical, cultural, and ideological ties between the two nations.<\/p>\n

Genesis Armenia<\/strong> Director Abraham Gasparyan and Ambassador Shirgholami stated that Armenia and Iran are currently facing a number of common challenges, making it increasingly important to develop a joint and coordinated agenda between the two friendly and naturally allied states.<\/p>\n

The meeting also highlighted the importance of preserving national identity, national values, and societal resilience amid the multiple crises facing the modern world.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to expand cooperation.
