The EU is committed to peace and stability in the South
\nCaucasus region and is investing high-level, political capital in this process.
\nThe EU will also consider the issue of further support to the people who were
\ndisplaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and settled in Armenia. Head of the EU
\nDelegation to Armenia Vassilis Maragos said this in his interview with
\nArmenpress․

Maragos also referred to issues concerning the bilateral
\nagenda, including visa liberalization issues. As regards the bilateral
\nrelations between Armenia and the EU, he noted that the EU and Armenia are
\nactively working to identify areas of further cooperation.

“The European Union is committed to peace and stability in
\nthis region and we are investing important, high-level, political capital in
\nthis process. As you said, the European Union has made very clear its position
\nagainst the use of force and in support of the human rights of Karabakh
\nArmenians,” the ambassador noted.

According to him, the European Union has a very clear
\nunderstanding of the situation on the ground through the EU Mission in Armenia
\nand its contacts with both Yerevan and Baku.

\nArmenia and more broadly for peace and stability in the region, which is our
\nprimary aim. The EU has repeatedly called on the sides to ensure non-use of
\nforce and a distancing of forces to reduce tensions and potential escalation on
\nthe ground,” he said and added that the EU hopes that some understanding can be
\nreached in the near future on this and other issues, including during the next
\nmeeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani border
\ncommissions, which is scheduled for Nov. 30, 2023.
