Russia will assist Belarus in the event of external aggression, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, according to RIA Novosti<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We are ready to take all measures stipulated by the treaty to ensure the security of our ally and, of course, the security of the Union State,” Lavrov said during the 12th Ambassadors’ Roundtable held at the Diplomatic Academy.<\/p>\n
