All train traffic across Germany was suspended late on June 23 due to communication system problems, the Associated Press<\/a> writes.<\/p>\n

Train operations were gradually restored around 1:00 a.m. on June 24. In total, trains were not running for approximately 2.5 hours.<\/p>\n

Germany’s main railway operator, Deutsche Bahn, said the disruption was caused by a failure in the GSM-R mobile communications system used for internal railway communications.<\/p>\n
