Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has said<\/a> he will present a draft resolution at the next cabinet meeting that would provide for the Israeli government’s official recognition of the Armenian Genocide.<\/p>\n

“This is a moral and historical obligation to acknowledge the genocide perpetrated against the Armenian people at the end of the Ottoman Empire. At the same time, it is appropriate to condemn any denial, minimization, or distortion of the historical truth,” Sa’ar said.<\/p>\n
