It has been three days since the Lars checkpoint was closed:
\nTrucks are standing in line. The Government officials note that the issue
\nshould not be politicized, and at the same time, call on Armenian exporters not
\nto remain dependent on the Russian market and to find new markets. Former
\nMinister of Finance Vardan Aramyan noted that it would be foolish not to
\npoliticize the issue at all, as it is plain truth that political cycles
\ndetermine economic cycles. The lion’s share of export volumes belongs to the Russian
\nmarket today. According to Vardan Aramyan, about 80% of our exports pass
\nthrough the Lars checkpoint, and any problem that arises there, may have dire
\nconsequences for our economy.
