Armenian master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian has been awarded the Legion of Honor, France’s highest civilian distinction, joining hundreds of people recognized this year for their contributions to public life, culture, science and business, The Armenian Report<\/a> writes.<\/p>\n

The annual awards recognize individuals whose work has made a lasting impact across a wide range of fields.<\/p>\n

One of the world’s most influential fragrance creators, Kurkdjian has built an international reputation through decades of innovation in perfumery. Born in Paris to an Armenian family, he co-founded Maison Francis Kurkdjian before becoming perfume creative director at Dior. His fragrances have helped shape the modern luxury perfume industry, earning him global recognition as one of the leading perfumers of his generation.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the news, Kurkdjian wrote on Instagram: “It is with immense gratitude that I learned this morning that I have been named a Knight of the Legion of Honor. I consider this distinction a great honor and share it with all those who have stood by me throughout the years.”<\/p>\n

He added that the recognition further strengthens his commitment to continuing the work of his two endowment funds, PerFumum and the Francis Kurkdjian Endowment Fund.<\/p>\n
