Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has stated there is de facto peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n
Bayramov made the remarks during a briefing following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.<\/p>\n
“Today, we can confidently say that de facto peace exists between Baku and Yerevan. Azerbaijan’s peace initiatives have significantly accelerated and contributed to the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Bayramov said.<\/p>\n
According to him, the regional security framework is based on the supremacy of international law.<\/p>\n
“The recent historic developments in the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the signing of the draft peace agreement, have created a unique opportunity to ensure lasting peace, security, and prosperity in the region,” he said.<\/p>\n
