The Trump administration is preparing to revoke the business and tourist visas of up to 200,000 foreign nationals who have applied for asylum in the United States, Reuters<\/a> reports, citing US State Department documents.<\/p>\n

If carried out, the move would mark the largest mass visa revocation in US history.<\/p>\n

The State Department, in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, is expected to announce the revocation of so-called B1 and B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026. The move is expected to take place “in the coming weeks.”<\/p>\n

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott indirectly confirmed the plans.<\/p>\n

He said the department was working to identify and revoke the nonimmigrant visas of foreign nationals who came to the United States for short-term stays and subsequently applied for asylum with the aim of obtaining permanent residency.
