Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced the launch of a joint venture with Israel to assemble military drones using Israeli technology.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Vučić stated that Serbia and Israel would establish a 50-50 joint venture to produce UAVs on Serbian soil. Subsequently, as reported by РИА Новости, he announced the creation of dedicated drone and unmanned platform units within the Serbian army.<\/p>\n
“This morning, I was especially proud of Serbia and its achievements. I inaugurated a factory for assembling state-of-the-art Israeli-made drones; it will employ around one hundred workers and produce cutting-edge equipment for both the Serbian army and the armed forces of other countries,” Vučić wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n
He also posted a video showing him inspecting the UAVs and emphasized that plans in this area are “ambitious.”<\/p>\n
“I am confident that, together with our Israeli partners, we will open at least three more factories in Serbia.
