The violation of the legitimate interests of Russian economic operators in Armenia will not go without a proper reaction from the Russian side, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.<\/p>\n
՛՛We are closely monitoring the observance of the legitimate interests of Russian economic operators in Armenia. Their violation will not only damage the republic’s investment climate, but will also not remain without a proper reaction from the Russian side,՛՛ Galuzin noted.<\/p>\n
According to him, signs of property redistribution on political grounds are being observed in the republic. A striking example is the ongoing nationalization of ՛՛Electric Networks of Armenia,՛՛ belonging to businessman Samvel Karapetyan, which resembles a politically motivated crackdown, the diplomat pointed out.<\/p>\n
Galuzin added: The reality is the opposite of Yerevan’s statements regarding the concession of the ՛՛South Caucasus Railway՛՛ (SCR), as all revenues are invested in the development of Armenia’s railway infrastructure.<\/p>\n
՛՛We take very seriously the statements of the Armenian leadership regarding the need to sell the concession of CJSC South Caucasus Railway—a subsidiary of JSC Russian Railways managing the Armenian railway network—to a certain third country. It is claimed that the Russian presence allegedly deprives Armenia of competitive advantages due to the threat of Western sanctions.
