The six leaders aim to redirect resources toward defense needs and support for innovative companies in order to address growing economic challenges and security threats.<\/p>\n
Approving the EU budget for 2028–2034 requires a unanimous decision by all 27 member states. The six nations’ threat to withhold consent runs counter to the commitment made by EU leaders at the June summit to reach an agreement by the end of this year.
