”Rosatom” is ready to apply all its available technologies and expertise to implement a project for neutralizing the territory of the former “Nairit” chemical plant in Armenia, the Federal Ecological Operator company (FSUE FEO, an enterprise of Rosatom) told TASS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As noted, ”Rosatom” possesses all the technologies and expertise required to eliminate the most complex sites of accumulated environmental damage—potential ecological disasters in the future—and is ready to apply them to solve a wide variety of tasks, including the project to make the territory of the former “Nairit” chemical plant in Armenia safe.<\/p>\n

“The issue of ”Rosatom’s” potential participation in solving the problems of the former “Nairit” chemical plant has been discussed since 2022. The site is a very complex industrial area with accumulated chemical substances and waste, located near residential zones. Such complex sites require comprehensive work: site surveys, technology development, safe handling of hazardous substances, and long-term monitoring,” FEO noted.<\/p>\n

In 2023, at the request of Armenian partners and using its own funds, a company within the ”Rosatom” perimeter conducted a site survey and an inventory of the accumulated waste.
