In a conversation with Aliyev, the U.S. Secretary of State
\nnoted that the long-standing conflict has caused Armenia and Azerbaijan
\nsuffering and “underscored the benefits that peace would bring to everyone in
\nthe region”. Blinken also discussed the relations between the U.S. and
\nAzerbaijan, noting recent points of concern (Azerbaijan had refused to attend
\nthe meeting scheduled for Washington because of the U.S. position).

Miller also noted that Secretary of State Blinken discussed
\nwith Pashinyan “U.S. support” for efforts to reach a peace agreement between
\nArmenia and Azerbaijan. Blinken reaffirmed U.S. support for Armenia’s
\nsovereignty and territorial integrity, and outlined the efforts to increase
\nbilateral cooperation with Armenia.
