Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar exchanged views on the regional situation in the South Caucasus, the post-conflict normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the agreements reached in Washington.<\/p>\n
“We discussed goods being shipped from Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as mutual visits. I also conveyed to my counterpart our expectations of Armenia regarding the completion of this process,” the Azerbaijani foreign minister said.<\/p>\n
Jaishankar said, that India welcomes the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n
According to Jaishankar, India is closely monitoring developments in the South Caucasus and welcomes the peace agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in August last year.<\/p>\n
“We hope this will lead to lasting peace. India’s position is clear: disputes must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy,” the minister said.<\/p>\n
