The civil lawsuit filed by Arman Saroyan, formerly Bishop Gevorg, has been dismissed. The court recorded that the relations between a bishop and the Church are not of an employment nature, and that the appointment and dismissal of a diocesan primate fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Catholicos.<\/p>\n

According to attorney Marine Farmanyan, this decision could also be significant for the criminal case initiated against the Catholicos of All Armenians and six bishops. The defense team of the Mother See has already submitted motions to terminate the criminal prosecution and dismiss the case.<\/p>\n
