Employees of the Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français (SNCF) have announced their decision to stage a strike on Feb. 16–18 because of low wages and difficult working conditions, Midi Libre reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

The strike will start as winter holidays begin in French schools, and SNCF is going to face a heavy passenger load.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, SNCF management promised to organize a round-table discussion with trade unions in March, as well as to create an additional 200 jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Christmas holidays of 2022, France was faced with a transport collapse because of railway strikes. More than 200,000 passengers had last-minute train cancellations. After that, the SNCF management promised to take measures to support the employees.
