In response to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s Nov. 21
\nstatement, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement. As noted,
\nArmenia proposed holding a delimitation commission meeting along the border
\nbetween the two countries.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“The Armenian side continued working on the text of the
\nagreement and considered it more effective to present it to the Azerbaijani
\nside during the scheduled meetings. However, in order to prevent attempts to
\ndeadlock the negotiation process and aimed at achieving lasting peace in our
\nregion, the Republic of Armenia constructively sent its comments on the draft
\nagreement. As demonstrated numerous times before, Armenia proved its readiness
\nto resume engagement in the negotiations, guided by the following principles:
<\/p><\/p>\n
-mutual recognition of each other’s territorial integrity
\nwithout any ambiguity and respect for it,
<\/p><\/p>\n
-future delimitation process on the basis of the Alma-Ata
\nDeclaration and the most recent legitimate maps of the Soviet Union,
<\/p><\/p>\n
-unblocking of the regional communications on the basis of
\nfull respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of states and the principles
\nof equality and reciprocity,” reads the statement.

As noted, despite all difficulties and challenges, the
\nArmenian side believes peace between the two countries is possible, and it can
\nbe established if both sides exercise political will.
<\/p><\/p>\n\n
“The Armenian side continues to demonstrate such will. One
\nof its manifestations is that Armenia proposed to Azerbaijan to hold a meeting
\nof the delimitation commission on the state border between the two countries,”
\nreads the statement.
