“The relations between Armenia and the CSTO have really been suspended; the Armenian-Russian relations are facing a crisis as well. One of the main reasons for this is that Russia has focused its attention on another front. In other words, Russia is busy with the Russian-Ukrainian war,” the expert said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Referring to Russia’s response, Iskandaryan noted that it was an appropriate one, and if the CSTO does not provide for a status of “frozen relations” with any of its member states, how can it have such relations with Armenia?<\/span><\/p>\n

“The current state of relations between Armenia and Russia, particularly those with the CSTO, has resulted from Armenia’s faulty policy, work, and expert base,” Iskandaryan said.<\/span><\/p>\n

He noted that Armenia՛s relations with Russia had become tense before Pashinyan came to power in Armenia. At that time, the reason was not the weak politics of Armenia, but Russia’s arms sale to Azerbaijan.<\/span><\/p>\n

“However, the relations between Armenia and Russia have never been so tense before. It should also be noted that the situation within the CSTO is tense as well,” the expert said.<\/span><\/p>\n
