Yerevan Council of Elders Member Andranik Tevanyan, heading
\nthe Mother Armenia Alliance, has resigned his seat. Manuk Sukiasyan will head
\nthe alliance.

“I stated during the election campaign that my aim was not
\nto become a Council of Elders member. My aim was the change of power. I am
\nresigning my seat. Manuk Sukiasyan will head the alliance. Our 12 members will
\nfulfill the expectations of the residents of Yerevan with their activities,”
\nTevanyan said.

He noted that the change of power could have been possible
\nif their alliance had taken more than 50% of the vote.
