Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak accused the West of trying “to sit in two chairs” because of its desire to protect its market, Politico writes.<\/span><\/p>\n

“On the one hand, you’re an ally and you must help Ukraine in the war, on the other, you are trying to protect your market in a protectionist way,” Podolyak said in an interview to the newspaper.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Politico writes, the relations between Kyiv and its European allies have worsened amid weeks of protests by farmers in Poland and in a number of other European countries against agricultural imports from Ukraine. As reported, EU countries are now split over whether to extend duty-free imports of Ukrainian products, while Poland and France are pressing for tougher restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n
