Turkish nationalist Ogun Samast, who killed Hrant Dink, the
\nfounder and editor-in-chief of the Istanbul-based Armenian newspaper Agos, has
\nbeen released from prison.

He was arrested on Jan. 24, 2007 after Dink’s
\nassassination.
<\/p><\/p>\n
Samast has been granted an early release “for good
\nconduct”.
<\/p><\/p>\n
Ogun Samast, was a minor when he committed the crime. He was
\nsentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of “premeditated murder” and
\n“criminal possession of a weapon”.
<\/p><\/p>\n\n
In 2020, he was sentenced to an additional 4 years in prison
\nfor attacking prison guards.
