Russia and Armenia remain brotherly countries, despite the current difficulties in relations. Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said this.<\/span><\/p>\n

“According to Peskov, Armenia is even more than a brotherly country for Russia, although the two countries are currently experiencing a rather difficult period of relations. They are even more than brotherly, because there are more Armenians living here than in Armenia itself,” Peskov said.<\/span><\/p>\n

He noted that the economic activity of these Armenians, the Russian citizens, constitutes a very large percentage of the total budget of Armenia, up to several billion dollars annually.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We hope that Yerevan will have the political will to continue the development of our relations, and we will successfully deal with this difficult period,” Peskov said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently criticized relations with Moscow.
