Twelve thousand residents of Artsakh found abode in the
\ncommunity of Masis after the depopulation of Artsakh. Head of the community
\nDavit Hambardzumyan said this to ABC Media. At the beginning, the displaced
\npersons were accommodated in the houses of the locals: businessmen, as well as
\nlocal and international NGOs helped in this regard.

“We provided 12,000 people from Artsakh with accommodation.
\nHowever, now the number of Artsakhis living here is not that much. Some of them
\nhave found accommodation in other communities and have moved. To be honest, it
\nsaddens us when our compatriots from Artsakh leave our community. Therefore, we
\ntry to do our best to create the necessary conditions for them to stay here
\nwith us.

People had not handled stress yet; the housing issue was
\ntheir priority. In fact, this issue has not been fully addressed yet. Now, we
\ntry to help them find jobs. Opportunities are not so ample so that we will be
\nable to find jobs for everyone, but we will try to help them,” Hambardzumyan
\nnoted.

Organizing various cultural events for children from
\nArtsakh, they try to integrate them into the Masis community. Another major
\nissue facing the people from Artsakh is that of the children’s enrolment in
\nkindergartens.
<\/p><\/p>\n\n
“Diaspora Armenians have also expressed their wish to help
\npeople from Artsakh who have settled in our community. There are people who
\nhave already been registered in three communities of Masis; and they will soon
\nreceive aid,” Hambardzumyan said.
