In early November, the International Committee of the Red
\nCross (ICRC) visited some Armenians arrested by the Azerbaijani authorities.
\nICRC Communication and Prevention Programs Manager Zara Amatuni said this to
\nArmenpress.

“We continue to visit all those Armenians who were arrested
\nby Azerbaijan and whose arrest has been confirmed by the Azerbaijani
\nauthorities. We are talking about the persons who were arrested and have been
\nin Azerbaijan since 2020, since the escalation in 2021, as well as the one on
\nSept. 19, 2023. We visit them on a regular basis. Thus, we give them the
\nopportunity to stay in contact with their families,” Amatuni said.

She noted that in October, the ICRC visited some of them in
\nBaku, and early this month, for the first time, visited those arrested after
\nthe Sept. 19 hostilities. The organization has received confirmations on their
\narrests recently.

As Amatuni noted, the meetings are private. Issues
\nconcerning each person are discussed with them. The ICRC delegates keep the
\ndetainees’ health condition and conditions of their detention in the center of
\ntheir attention. They do this through both private meetings and visits to all
\npossible places.
