\nHowever, the actions of the West are only exacerbating the situation. Secretary
\nof the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev said this at a meeting with
\nCIS partners in Moscow.

“We are also interested in the stabilization of the
\nsituation in the South Caucasus by creating necessary conditions for that and
\ndeveloping mutual trust and cooperation,” he said.

As Patrushev noted, Russia is consistently taking steps
\ntoward the comprehensive normalization of relations between Armenia and
\nAzerbaijan, thus working toward the conclusion of a peace treaty between these
\ncountries, border demarcation and the opening of transport links.

“As we have seen, this will be possible only if non-regional
\nforces do not interfere. The actions of the Western countries aggravate the
\nsituation in the region and conduce to the continuity of conflicts there,”
\nPatrushev noted.
