Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan refused to hug U.S.
\nSecretary of State Antony Blinken. As Turkish Hürriyet writes, the reason for
\nthis was the disrespect that Blinken had shown.

The footage showing their meeting has received wide press
\ncoverage in the Turkish media. The video shows how Blinken tries to hug Fidan
\nby stepping forward. However, the Turkish minister steps back, while shaking
\nhands with the U.S. Secretary of State.

“When Blinken’s car approached the building of the Turkish
\nMinistry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan came out of the building and stood at the
\ndoor of the ministry — as he always greets guests. However, Blinken did not get
\nout of the car, continuing to talk on the phone. After that, Fidan got back to
\nthe building,” the newspaper writes.
