Member of the National Committee Vazgen Manukyan commented
\non Artsvik Minasyan’s statement. Minasyan had said that they had discussed the
\noption of forming an interim government to be headed by Arman Tatoyan. However,
\nLevon Ter-Petrosyan opposed it.

Vazgen Manukyan mentioned three points:
<\/p><\/p>\n
“First, the committee has given considerable importance to
\ninvolving respected figures. Various people’s names were discussed, including
\nthose of Arman Tatoyan and Vardan Oskanyan.
<\/p><\/p>\n
Second, the members of the committee also had discussion on
\nwho might become the Armenian prime minister after the change of power. Arman
\nTatoyan’s candidacy was also considered. However, this was not discussed with
\nhim and such a decision was not made.
<\/p><\/p>\n
Third, according to some members of the committee, the
\nCatholicos of All Armenians and the three presidents of Armenia had better make
\na joint statement on the movement and the events unfolding in Armenia and
\nArtsakh — not of course on the candidate for the prime minister’s post.
\nHowever, for some technical reasons, the implementation of this idea was
\npostponed.

Vazgen Manukyan noted that he thinks “the National Committee
\nfailed to include representatives from different political and social movements
\nand did not represent the entire opposition”.
