The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia holds a meeting
\nat 3:00 p.m. today. Two issues will be on the agenda for the meeting: drawing
\nup a document on granting a parliamentary seat and drawing up a document on
\ngranting a seat of a Yerevan Council of Elders’ member.
<\/p><\/p>\n
A seat will be granted to Levon Kocharyan from the RA NA
\nArmenia Alliance. Levon Kocharyan is RA Second President Robert Kocharyan’s
\nson. He is currently held in custody.
<\/p><\/p>\n
To remind, Levon Kocharyan was arrested, then remanded in
\ncustody in September during the protests in support of Artsakh.
<\/p><\/p>\n
He has been charged with using violence against an authority
\nrepresentative. Levon Kocharyan does not plead guilty, noting that the charge
\nhas been trumped-up.
<\/p><\/p>\n
After Armen Charchyan resigned his parliamentary seat, three
\nmembers on the list of the Armenia Alliance, namely Mihrdat Madatyan, Gerasim
\nVardanyan and Anzhela Nalbandyan, refused to take up the seat. Next on the list
\nis Levon Kocharyan.

After Levon Kocharyan takes up the parliamentary seat, he
\ncannot be kept in custody.
