Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot and seriously injured on Wednesday; The suspect has been arrested, Slovak newspaper Dennik N writes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The assassination attempt against Fico took place in the Slovak town of Handlova, when, after a government meeting, the Slovak prime minister came out to greet the people waiting for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fico was hospitalized; the police arrested the suspect and cordoned off the area, evacuating people from the cultural center where the government meeting had been held.<\/span><\/p>\n
