The other day, MP Armen Charchyan from the opposing NA
\nArmenia Alliance, resigned his parliamentary seat. On Oct. 23, Mihrdat Madatyan
\ntold ABC Media that he would take up the seat. However, today, Levon
\nKocharyan’s name was circulating in the press. Earlier, ARF member Gerasim
\nVardanyan announced his decision not to take up the parliamentary seat.

However, what was the matter if Madatyan had confirmed
\nreplacing Charchyan? ABC Media contacted Madatyan once again. This time, he
\nsaid that as the law stands, his profession is not compatible with
\nparliamentary activity. Thus, he has decided to practice his profession,
\nresigning his seat.

According to this logic, next on the list is Levon
\nKocharyan. MP Agnesa Khamoyan from the Armenia Alliance told us that for
\nreasons best known to everyone, they do not have such information as Levon
\nKocharyan is in prison.

“Most probably, Levon Kocharyan himself will make a
\nstatement on this in the coming days and will let us know if he is taking up
\nthe seat or not,” Agnesa Khamoyan said.
