Any violation of Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial
\nintegrity will have serious consequences. The U.S. Department of State
\nresponded to the Armenian Service of Voice of America with regard to the alert
\nissued by the Lemkin Institute on Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The United States strongly supports the sovereignty and
\nterritorial integrity of Armenia. We have noted that any violation of that sovereignty
\nand territorial integrity will lead to serious consequences. We regularly
\nreiterate what we expect, i.e. our urge against the use of force. We keep
\nobserving the situation. Armenia is a close partner and friend of the United
\nStates, and we expect to work with the Armenian authorities to tighten up the
\npolitical and economic security of that country,” the State Department noted.

To remind, on Oct. 31, the Lemkin Institute for Genocide
\nPrevention raised a Red Flag Alert and voiced deep concern about a possibility
\nof an invasion of Armenia by Azerbaijan in the coming days and weeks.
