The Spanish Government has officially recognized Palestine as a sovereign state, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said. Norway’s decision to recognize Palestine as an independent state has also come into force, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said in a statement published on the Government website. Later, the Irish Government announced the recognition of Palestinian statehood.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Today, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, we decided to recognize the State of Palestine,” Albares said at a press conference. According to the minister, this is the only way to make peace in the Middle East.<\/span><\/p>\n

“For more than 30 years, Norway has been one of the biggest supporters of the creation of a Palestinian state. Today, Norway’s official recognition of Palestine as a state is an important milestone in the relations between Norway and Palestine,” Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said.<\/span><\/p>\n
