The struggle is going on, and I don’t think it is losing momentum, Third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan told the press after the verdict of acquittal was announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

“So what would you suggest then? To stop and not fight at all? I cannot see any other way,” he said, talking about the protests taking place in Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about the external support that the authorities enjoy, Sargsyan noted: “When I say outside forces, I mean the collective West, because traditionally our allies, or non-Western countries, refrain from making statements regarding our domestic affairs; of course there have been various statements at different times, but they have not been made directly.”<\/span><\/p>\n

In response to the remark that Turkey and Azerbaijan have made statements about the rallies the third president noted: “The stance of Turkey or that of Azerbaijan mean nothing to me; they don’t even have that right, although they are members of the Council of Europe too; one is a member, the other’s membership has been suspended.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
